Five regions. Five sets of rules.
We ship to the United Kingdom, the European Union, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and North America. Nicotine pouches are physically easy to move, dry, stable, light, no cold chain, and administratively harder, because every one of those borders treats them differently.
- No cold chain
- Ambient shipping. Chilled storage extends life but is not required in transit.
- Air or sea
- Air for opening orders and reorders under pressure, sea for volume once a line is proven.

Shipping nicotine pouches, region by region
Pouches are one of the easier nicotine products to move. They are dry and shelf-stable, they need no refrigeration in transit, and a case holds a great deal of retail value in very little volume. That combination makes air freight viable for opening orders in a way it rarely is for bulkier lines, and makes sea freight extremely efficient once a line is proven.
What is not simple is the paperwork. Nicotine pouches are classified inconsistently between customs authorities, and the classification drives the duty. Two importers in neighbouring countries can pay materially different rates on the same case. Before your first shipment, get the classification your authority applies and the duty that follows from it in writing, it changes the landed cost, and therefore your margin, more than freight does.
What changes at each border
- United Kingdom
- A settled market with an established retail base. Pouches are treated as general consumer products rather than tobacco, with age-of-sale restrictions applying. Labelling and warning requirements should be confirmed against current guidance before your artwork is finalised.
- European Union
- Not one market. Because tobacco-free pouches fall outside the Tobacco Products Directive, member states have legislated individually, some with notification regimes, some with nicotine caps, some with flavour restrictions, and a few with outright bans. Treat each destination state as its own question, not as "the EU".
- Middle East
- Positions range from licensed retail to prohibition, sometimes varying within a single country. Import approval is frequently required in advance and cannot be arranged retrospectively at the port. Confirm approval before goods leave.
- Southeast Asia
- The most varied of the five, and the fastest-changing. Some markets have permissive regimes with rapid growth, others prohibit nicotine products entirely with serious penalties. Nothing should be assumed from a neighbouring country's position.
- North America
- Federal and state or provincial rules stack on top of each other, so a product cleared nationally may still be restricted locally. Retail licensing and age verification requirements vary by jurisdiction and apply to you as the seller.
Storage and shelf life
Pouches keep well in ambient conditions and keep considerably better cool. Refrigeration is not required, but heat and prolonged direct sunlight dry the pouch and dull the flavour, so a stockroom shelf away from a window is preferable to a display in a hot front window. Rotate stock properly and the category gives very little trouble, one of the reasons buyers who take it on tend to keep it.
